Organ Donation doesn’t see excuses just gifts lives
Duty… Deeds....Dogma...Devotion all matters when say Nirvana after Life. Everyone thinks about self. Hardly some think of third person. We seldom get chance to perform humane jobs but to catch complete salvation we surely carry out many benevolent acts during our life time. Even at the stage of death we only focus to our body to be burned or buried fully so that we may have purely ‘Salvation’ or ‘Moksha’. Organ Donation is touching point for religious crowd when talking about SALVATION. Religious myths inflame people to mind for Organ Donation as according to them it makes body incomplete for burn or bury. Crossing barriers of all these thinking Mr. Vikram Shah, father of late Hardik shah, took a hard-hitting decision and donated critical organs of his brain dead son to needy individuals. Twenty seven years a young brilliant hardware Computer Engineer Hardik V Shah made his die a noble meaning with gifting 3 lives and enabled a blind to see life from his eyes. Father said, he hadn’t done any extraordinary deeds during his short tenure of life but his death urged us to make him remarkable forever. Parents of this young boy saw him brain dead but still his kidneys, liver, lungs and other organs were living for several hours. Parents thought to gift these organs to those needy who can take further breathe. And they did as they thought.
Unforgettable day is twelfth October of 2009 when Hardik had severe headache and vomiting during his office hours. He returned home for rest but unfortunately destiny decided something else for him. Weakness and dehydration caused his left side limbs paralytic. Spending several moments in hospital he was declared as brain dead with a Blood Clot in nervous of his right side brain. This news stood parents steady on foot. Meanwhile, a near dear friend came and discussed for Organ Donation. Without wasting a minute of time Hardik’s relatives and doctors approached Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center (IKDRC) for allow them to harvest Hardik’s organs. The decision was not in waste, in fact, four recipients received Hardik’s important organs. A Pair of Kidneys, Liver, and Eyes were given to those who were in pitiable conditions and really wanted to live further. Mrs. Kusum D. Parmar is one of the Kidney Recipient of Hardilk. She is just twenty seven years old with 2 kids and husband, and was told for her Kidney Transplant. It was pretty difficult for her to stay a long with damaged kidneys. But Hardik’s kidney has given her a new lease of life. She is glad to be healthy with her family now. Second Kidney Recipient is 26 Sakshi K Patel. Sakshi didn’t find matching donor in her own family so the Cadaver donor was her serious need.
Hardik’s family has not only shown humanity but also broken the wall of cast and creed. Shabaab Fatma is Muslim Liver Recipient of Donor Hindu Jain Hardik. Fifteen years this young baby was suffering liver problem from last three years. She might have died if she had not received new liver from Hardik. Another is Eye recipient of Donor Hardik. He or she can feel the colors of life through the new eyes.
On 14th October, 2009 Hardik gifted four new lives. And He will be memorized until his organs breath in bodies of others. We don’t know what is to happen tomorrow, when this life can leave our hands and whether we can get chance to perform something for society or not, so at least we can take oath if whatever may happen we will be an ORGAN DONOR.
